Well it’s been a frantic summer making perfect wedding videos for satisfied clients. My least expensive wedding video package is now £999, and clients have been biting my hand off. There really is too much demand for professional wedding videos and not enough wedding videographers to go round. Now is a great time to learn and practice over the winter to be ready for next spring. Exciting developments in digital wedding videography mean you can offer HD, widescreen, stills from video and other money making options. It’s never been a better time to be into wedding videography

Well it’s been a month - but a busy one is my excuse.
I finished my show reel and gave it to my colleague and sure enough she has made a firm booking for a wedding video next year. The showreel is so important. Not only should it showcase your filming and editing skills but, so much more importantly, convey emotion and tell a story. This is why it’s so hard to get bookings when you first start out. No footage = no bookings, no bookings = no footage. Fortunately if you are just starting you can buy a dvd of raw footage from me at www.contrastvideo.co.uk
We are also selling a powerful 11 chapter dvd taking you through all of the processes of videoing and editing a perfect wedding video. This, plus the book, plus the raw footage for only £99 will give a budding wedding videographer the start he or she needs to get into the lucrative business. And at over £1000 to be made per wedding, it’s scarecely a massive investment.

Well greetings. Thought it would be agood thing to have a blog on the contrastvideo website. The reasons for this are:
To reassure you that there is a ‘real’ person behind this. And..
I have been asked to video a wedding next August
So what you may ask? Well as you will see from the ‘about me’ I sold my wedding video business in 2004. However I retain the knowledge of course (if you buy my book then so can you - quick plug there). I have been asked by a colleague who has seen my work, and who is also really surprised at the amount she could be charged by some video companies, who frankly are over egging the pudding somewhat. Multi-camera coverage, steadycams, cranes(!!!) - these things get in the way and if you are skillful you can make your video look like it was shot with 2 cameras, and if you chose your spot carefully and plan ahead you can use your tripod..
So I am going to film her video and I will keep this blog as I go about the process. I’ll also drop some tips in about what I think makes a good video, how to film, how to edit, and most importantly how to sell. It should be useful for aspiring videographer as I will be starting ‘from scratch’ - hiring the camera and so on.
So I hope you get something out of this. And remember you can get the book - with all my knowledge from over 10 years making wedding videos, at www.contrastvideo.co.uk
